This is the first event of the "ARCHITECTURE LANGUAGE OF PEACE" series.

Peace-building is focused on three specific areas: Balkans (scars' range / choices), Baltic (cold war damage / chances) and Middle East countries (enduring conflict / confluences).

The main purpose of this exhibition is to investigate and to show the role of architecture (and architects) in the complicate process of rebuilding in those European and Mediterranean regions which are facing – or just coming out - instability and conflict.

Because of the unexpected instability of borders and a fast evolution of geo-politics, for the last twenty years, in these countries, architects have been having the challenging task to improve self-determination and hopes of peace. Architecture identifies, at the same time, the new symbols of young nations, or of countries undergoing important developments, and new connecting parts among them.

A selected group of architects, critics and cultural analysts will be invited to tell their experience and opinions in the two days workshop.
